Types of Braces title

Metal Braces Metal braces are the most common type. They are made of high grade stainless steel. Today's metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and more attractive.
Self-Ligation Brackets Self-ligation brackets create less friction and result in greater comfort for the patient. Self-ligating "SL" brackets often reduce both treatment time and the number of adjustments that are usually performed.
Ceramic Braces Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal.
Gold Braces Gold braces are stainless steel braces coated with gold, and are popular with patients of all ages. Gold braces are beautiful and blend with skin tones making them less noticeable than traditional metal braces. Cost is comparable to clear braces.
Colors Colors can be added to match your outfits, favorite sports teams, school colors, or holiday colors.
Invisible Braces Lingual means "towards the tongue." Lingual braces are "invisible" because they are hidden behind the teeth. Advancements in lingual technology allow lingual braces to treat a wide variety of orthodontic problems. Dr. Singer has used lingual braces continuously since they were invented in 1982 and is one of the few orthodontists locally to treat with lingual. He is the most experienced in lingual and a member of the American Lingual Orthodontic Association.
Invisalign The Invisalign System is a series of clear overlay templates—called aligners—that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult patients with certain orthodontic bite problems. Ask us if you are a candidate for the Invisalign system.
